MODERN DANCE CLUB is one of the CCAs in HENDERSON. Our girls are trained to be well-disciplined and responsible. We also learn about life skills through our activities. Here, students get to experience an enriching journey to learn different dance genres like: BALLET, CONTEMPORARY, ETC. They are also get a chance to participate in activities like basic make-up technique course, camps and overseas trips.
Our dancers have done our school proud by attaining SILVER in the SINGAPORE YOUTH FESTIVAL (SYF) CENTRAL JUDGING for dance consecutively in 2001, 2003, 2005 and 2007 choreographed by our instructor and resident choreographer, MR DAN KWOH. We are also very proud to be part of the pre-finale mass display item called "Flight of Splendour" at the SYFOC 2008 under the guidance of Mr Dan Kwoh and Mr Kiki Tay.
In 2009, HSS MDC was honoured to have an invitation to perform at the Opening Ceremony of the Asian Youth Games. Together with other schools taught under Mr Dan such as Serangoon Junior College, Hwa Chong Institution, National Junior College and Deyi Secondary School. We also performed two dance items in the HSS 35th Anniversary Concert at Esplanade. They are LEGEND and SPIRIT OF EVOLUTION.

In 2010, MDC performed at Suntec City for the International Youth Sports Conference. (IYSC) - with Juying Secondary School.

On 29 March 2011, HSS MDC represented and made the school proud in the SYF Central Judging for dance. We performed 'SHANGO' and clinched a GOLD AWARD! On 1 July, 33 of our dancers also performed this piece of dance @ MAX PAVILION.

The school also provided opportunities to further enhance our girls as a dance through overseas trip on every SYF year.
In 2009, the girls went to HONG KONG to perform 'DISNEY MAGIC' at HONG KONG DISNEYLAND. They also went for a school exchange as well as to visit sites and activities that is related to the various genres of dance education and explore the possibility of a school exchange program.
In 2011, we went to KOREA for a culture and arts immersion program.
This is to allow us to experience the first hand social-economics development and cultural heritage of Korea, as well as focus on Korean traditional dance choreography, foot works and wear their traditional costumes so as to prepare us for SYF 2013.
